Amsoc lunch

Each Thursday the American Society (Amsoc) whips up a delicious luncheon for members and guests. Once a month there is a special luncheon to either celebrate a holiday or just for the fun of it. This month’s special luncheon was on August 13. The menu consisted of authentic deli Subway sandwiches, potato chips, and a very tasty coleslaw. Following lunch was the Ice Cream Social with root beer floats, sundaes, and banana splits. The Bang-up Bingo game was a great finale to an enjoyable event.

Dog park party

Metro Can, the largest dog park in Mexico located in Zapopan’s Parque Metropolitano, is celebrating its first anniversary Sunday, August 30, beginning 10 a.m. The park spans 2.5 hectares, contained within a bright yellow, fence. Located near the main entrance to the play space is a broad range of durable agility equipment and obstacles that have been donated by dog food manufacturer Gran Can, the park’s main sponsors.  A small, muddy lake is also a great source of fun for dogs with no fear of water.  Gran Can dropped one million pesos to into Metro Can and plans surprises for dogs and owners who come to the celebration. The park is at the end of the park directly behind Wal-Mart.
