Zapopan Mayor Hector Robles has fired his chief of police in a bid to “reinforce security strategies” in the metro area municipality.
Although he gave no detailed explanation for the move, it is presumed that the recent brutal attack on young campers at El Diente spurred his decision.
Robles has assured his constituents that public security is the priority issue in Zapopan, which is home to the majority of middle-class and wealthy neighborhoods in the metropolitan area.
