The illustrations of Jose Guadalupe Posadas (1852-1913) are usually associated with the period leading up to Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on November 2, due to his penchant for biting social commentary in the guise of skeletons.
But as Mexico marks the 100th anniversary of his death, Posadas is being feted throughout this year.
More than 40 lithographs by Posadas can be seen at a show which opened at downtown Guadalajara’s Galeria Espacio Azul last week.
