Chapala fountain fixed

Chapala’s landmark Fuente de Pescadores is fully intact once again following the reinstallation of a damaged piece and other repairs completed on Friday, August 2.

One of the four statues representing local fishermen at work was found broken into several pieces in March at the height of the Easter holiday period. It is not known whether the cantera stone figure was the target of vandals or damaged accidentally. Staff from the city’s Public Works Department removed the busted fragments, placing them in storage to await repair.
