Eat out on Canadian Thanksgiving

The Canadian Thanksgiving Day meals at the Canadian Club and American Legion Post Seven may be sold out but there are other options for those looking for traditional fare on Monday, October 14. 

Salvador’s (Carretera Oriente 58, Ajijic) serves dinner from noon to 5 p.m. On the menu is turkey with all the trimmings, baked ham, greens, pasta and Waldorf salad. For dessert there is pecan or pumpkin pie, or bread pudding. The cost of 180 pesos per person includes a glass of wine, beer or margarita, soft drink, iced tea or coffee. Reservations at 766-2301.

Roberto’s (Poniente 35, Ajijic) serves Thanksgiving dinner from 3-8 p.m. The meal starts with fresh crab bisque, followed by a choice of turkey with trimmings, salmon with artichokes or steak Dianne. Dessert is pumpkin praline pie with fresh whipped cream, served with Amarretto Fizz. 195 pesos per person. Reservations at 766-1616

Number Four Restaurant (Donato Guerra 4, Ajijic) is hosting a slap-up Thanksgiving dinner from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  for a “prix fixe” of 250 pesos.  Call 766-1369 for reservations.

Foliatti Casino (inside Centro Laguna, Ajijic) offers a Thanksgiving dinner from 6 to 9 p.m.  The three-course menu for the sit-down feast includes a choice of pumpkin flower soup or plate of cream cheese and grapes as the starter, entrée of turkey in orange sauce or turkey with stuffing, and dessert options of carrot cake or cheesecake with blackberries. A glass of white wine goes with the meal for the bargain price of 79 pesos per person.
